The European Week of Regions and Cities 2025 provided a great opportunity to promote the Lifelong Guidance 5.0 project and its mission to support the transformation of guidance institutions and the work of career counsellors in the face of major societal changes.

Represented by EARLALL (European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning), the project was featured at the association’s stand in Brussels (14–15 October). The event allowed EARLALL to highlight the importance of high-quality, future-oriented career guidance and counselling systems that respond to the digital and green transitions shaping Europe’s labour markets and education systems.
Supporting the transformation of guidance in Europe
The Lifelong Guidance 5.0 project aims to strengthen the capacity of career guidance counsellors to use digital tools in their everyday work and to empower clients to navigate digital guidance systems effectively – whether independently or with the support of a counsellor. The project also encourages the development of future skills and helps individuals find educational and career pathways aligned with the new realities of digitalisation and sustainability.
Disseminating key activities and engaging stakeholders
During the #EURegionsWeek, EARLALL disseminated information about the project’s key activities, including the upcoming conference “Lifelong Changes: Transformations in Career Guidance and Counselling”, which will take place in Vienna on 23–24 March 2026, as well as a series of webinars supporting knowledge exchange among professionals in the field.
These events will bring together experts, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss how technological and societal transformations are reshaping the role of career guidance and to explore innovative approaches that strengthen people’s lifelong learning pathways.
Building connections and awareness
By promoting Lifelong Guidance 5.0 during the EU Regions Week 2025, EARLALL helped raise visibility for the project among European stakeholders, fostering new connections and partnerships that will contribute to more inclusive, adaptable, and future-ready guidance systems across Europe.
